Dozens of energy-conscious Westport people packed into the Town Hall Theatre last Thursday for the launch of the town's Energy Master Plan.
A presentation about the plan was given by energy consultant Ray McNally of Plan Energy, who was commissioned to create the plan by West SEC, Westport’s Sustainable Energy Community, with funding provided by the SEAI and supported by Westport Credit Union and the Town Hall Theatre.
The Energy Master Plan outlines a path for Westport to reduce its energy consumption across a variety of areas including the residential, commercial, and transport sectors.
Orla Nic Suibhne also gave a presentation about the wide variety of grants and supports which are available from the SEAI, including home energy audits, energy retrofits and EV grants.
A number of sustainable energy professionals and providers also attended the event to showcase their products and services, including Pax Eco Goods, West Quay Energy, Cosi Homes, JJ Bourke Car Sales, and of course Westport Credit Union.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and displayed at the event, especially Westport Credit Union and the Town Hall Theatre.
